After three weeks, the sander decided to give up on me. It is no longer capable of turning on. My only explanation is that “it’s not a Milwaukee, it’s a Black & Decker, so what do you expect” is true. I could be completely wrong, but I doubt it. I put it through a rigorous workout, and it didn’t make it. Despite the fact that I have not yet attempted the drill, I would be cautious and expect similar results if I were to try. These BD devices are perfectly functional, but they require a little extra care and attention. If you have a week’s worth of 1/2″ holes to drill in 40 year old concrete, this is not the tool you should use. They are great for around the house chores like hanging pictures, drilling a hole in drywall or soft wood, or sanding a chair (you get the picture). That little cordless mouse sander, on the other hand, is fantastic. Because I enjoy it so much, even though I blew it up, I went out and bought another one!. I’m not going to push this one too hard, but honestly. Quite the little workhorse, in fact. It is possible to remove it. I just need to figure out when I should take a break from it all. I’ve already blown two of them. I do, however, put a lot of pressure on them, so I’m fine with blowing them. I believe it is my fault as much as it is the tool’s. After all, it’s only a B&D, a lowly B&D. I work on it for hours at a time, and I’m constantly pressing down on the tool to force it to perform more tasks. Just make sure you have at least three or four batteries. If you have a lot of work to do, 2 is not enough (certainly not for me). A small but powerful tool, the sander can quickly deplete those 20V batteries if not properly maintained and used. When used steadily, each battery lasts approximately 15 minutes per charge. Ordering two more sanders, with the intention of swapping them out several times a day in the hopes of making them last longer than the first two. Is there a difference between BDCMS20C and BDCMS20B? Does anyone know. Two versions of this tool are available; the BDCMS20C is slightly more expensive at Wall Mart ($10 more) (deliberate mispelling). Possibly, this is my solution.
