So I bought this item in order to turn it into a theragun-style percussion massager. It does that well, because the stroke length is 1/2 inch and the rate is about 2000 strokes per minute.
The jigsaw is still louder than some power tools, but it’s a lot quieter than my worx 18v lithium jigsaw, which is a lot louder. When I used an iPhone app to measure decibels, I found that this was about 80db from 1 foot away. When I used my worx jigsaw, it had a noise level of 90db. So it’s not as quiet as a hypervolt or purewave (about 65db), but it’s still a good deal for what it costs.
It says it has a built-in 7.2v lithium power source with an unknown capacity, but that’s not what’s bad about i. The proprietary charger that came with it is a 10v 100mAh charger that doesn’t show when it’s charging. 100mAh is a very slow charge rate. When I charge my purewave, it takes about 30 to 50 minutes to fully charge. It has an 8.4v 1000mAh battery. ‘Up to 10 hours’ is how long the manual says this jigsaw needs to charge.
That’s what happened. Instead of giving you a quickcharger, they gave you a charger that can keep charging without hurting the battery because the rate is so slow.
Over all, it’s still a good thing, but it has this slow charge flaw that makes it kind of hard to charge overnight. lame
