Because of the ball head, the joint is consistent from any angle. For long strikes, there is no need to change hand position. Each joint has a different size on each end.
It’s a good idea to have this product on hand for tricky spots. I purchased this to assist me in tucking some cut stone that had a lot of groves in it into places where my barrel jointer was unable to reach. Because the balls pull the mud when you glide over it while it’s wet, I ended up using the barrel jointer for the majority of the time regardless. The balls, on the other hand, were excellent for the finishing touch. Finished the stone arches in a nice and professional manner!
