The old Makita had a dial on the trigger that I could turn. So when I locked the trigger, it would give me that speed, no matter how slow it was. There aren’t any new jigsaws out there that do that. You choose a range and either trigger in that range or lock the trigger at the top of that range. There are 6 clicks on a wheel between 500 and 3100 RPM. You can trigger in that range or lock the trigger. This is also more powerful than the old Makita. But not as high as the Milwaukee, which, like the old Makita, had a shoe made out of stamped steel like the old Makita. I don’t like how round these new Bosch saws are. They’re just too round. For the pros, there are many.

A good thing: Amps turned into power. vibration is very low and doesn’t move around. Widest shoe they can get away with for their height. Trigger is easy to use, and though it isn’t very smooth, it isn’t jerky either. The shoe’s glide cover is very nice. A T-shank blade is a must for tool replacement. Angles are simple to set up. Makes quick work of things. With a guide, this is a straight-cutting saw because the blade is well-controlled. Neither does it sweep everything away, nor does it build up. Long rope. Doesn’t have the option to move the shoe lead onto the job. Some people seem to be going this way, and it looks like they’re all using the same ideas now. For example, the guts are made or designed, and they all agreed to use the same ideas. This is not updating the old style. In the past, I have had Makita and B&D tools, and now I have this Bosch tool. I think a top of the line Milwaukee might be better for $100 more. On Amazon, this was a dollar under $100. This is good, very good, and very good. It’s a good thing to have, but it won’t give you the old slow, precise perfection of the old speed control. There is also less space in its body than there is in the Milwaukee because its body isn’t as long. So this review is for this tool. I’d like to try the 7.2 amp model out and see how it works. They’re good enough for me. Ashes and oak are fine.
