The BOSCH JA1007 Dust Extraction Kit can be used with BOSCH JS470E and JS470EB Jig Saws. It can be used to collect and remove dust from the saws. This kit comes with a Clear Dust Hood (2605510293), a Dust Tube (2605730055), and a Vacuum Hose Adapter (VAC024).

I waited for two months for this tool to come out before I used it. It takes time after time. Finally, I get this. After some light use, I try to remove the battery (Bosch GBA18V63 CORE18V Lithium Ion 6.3 Ah Battery) and it doesn’t come off. It doesn’t work. That was weird. The battery starts to fall apart after I shake it a little. When I opened the tool, I found that the battery pack had been fused to the tool. Wow!!. Okay, so Bosch is the best and I haven’t had a problem with it at all. Due to this, I had to return both the battery and the tool. I buy new things. I think I can figure out what’s wrong.

Round 2: The new tool. Poor construction and no QA.

To figure out what problems I might have with the replacement tool, I looked at it in advance. I saw that the red wire was stuck inside the spring. For some reason, the red wire didn’t go around the harness in the right way. When the battery is inserted, it smashes the red wire (and to a lesser extent the black wire) into a sharp plastic housing. I think this is what happened with the last tool, because both tools have the same level.

A plan for obsolescenc. Poor factory QA? That’s not good. In this case, the engineering was bad. It’s your choice. If you buy this tool, you should expect to have trouble. A person who likes to do things on their own doesn’t like having to return over and over (the tool is fantastic otherwise). Move the wire with a dull plastic tool. I’m not sure I want to risk it. People should hope that this is just the start of a bad batch.

++++++++++++++++++UPDATE+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++.

Several months now. Still no news from Bosch. Typical. Is that what you do. LOL.

In all fairness, having used this tool I can say that it’s a good thing.

After I moved the wires back against the black plastic, I haven’t had any problems at all since I did that.

We don’t know yet if Bosch has fixed this in their production line. You can see that they have said bad things about this on here. They even refused to let me post on their website twice because of BS rules about not being able to effectively express my frustrations. This is what they said. Whatever. Denial and radio silence are common in the business world. However, they are still good tools in general.

If you buy something..

Take my simple test to see if you might be at risk.

If so, which ones.

—-.

If so, check the battery spring assembly and see if it’s the same as the other one. Step 2: Go to step 2.

If not, that’s fine. You can still check, but you won’t be able to compare anything else to other than what I’ll show you below.

2) Find the battery terminals (battery removed of course). Gently push back on the black plastic (the side with the battery leads) and see if you can push it against the green plastic and get it to be even. There should be no gaps between the green and black plastic.

3)Does it push back without leaving a space.

—-.

Yes, Bosch may have fixed this. You should, at least, be fine.

Not at al. See where the gap is, and be very careful. Are there any wires. If that’s the case, you might have a problem with your car. Before your warranty runs out, call Bosch.

There is clearly a “Launch now, fix later,” “have to be the first one in line” mentality at Bosch. A company’s culture may be to blame for making decisions like this. Instead of making sure all four tires come with the car, they focus on arbitrary dates. Bad.

Again, this has been a great tool so far if you don’t want to use the 18.3V CORE battery. There are no wires to worry about. Adding a star to this.
