My most frequently used power tool is an older IDH182. It has developed a strange intermittent problem with losing power, and the only way to fix it is to reinstall the battery in the device. It was most likely just dirty terminals on the battery, so I cleaned them and haven’t had any problems since then. Heh. Anyway, when it came time to replace the hinges on my kitchen cabinets, the IDH182 was too long to fit into the corner cabinets, so I chose the GDR18V (rather than the GDX18V) because of its smaller size and lower price. The power and light buttons have been improved a little. The grip has been widened to accommodate the Bluetooth module, which is probably a net negative for most people, but I have large hands and don’t find it to be an issue for me. Bosch has informed me that there is no exact insert for the L-Boxx, and that none of the newer tools are supplied with the boxes, which is a shame because they are very effective.
