This is a lot smaller and more powerful than my old Bosch 12V driver. Its small size makes it very useful in small places and in my tool bag, which I always have with me. It is a lot louder, though, so I’m going to need ear protection for my already sensitive ears (tinnitus).
It has been said that other drivers like Dewalt have a better balance of weight. There are some people who might find that more important, but I prefer the Bosch because it’s a lot more small.
When Bosch drivers have been unreliable, I have had a lot of trouble with them. I have had four of my nine 18 and 12v Bosch drivers break down. One speed on the clutch was stripped, both speeds were stripped, the clutch was stripped again after a $175 rebuild, and the previous version of this 12V driver just died. I don’t think Bosch is the best choice for someone who wants to start from scratch, but for people who already use the platform, this is a great size.
