If you want to use this with certain Bosch routers, you’ll need to buy the RA1126 Templet guide adapter (not included). The 1613AEVS, 1617 series, and 1618-series are the 1600 BOSCH routers that need RA1126. Other routers that need RA1126 are MRF23EVS, MRF23EVS, MRC23EVSK, and PR011. In order to use some BOSCH routers with the PR009 Templet guide adapter, you’ll need to buy one of these. The PR009 must be used with the PR011 and fixed with the PR10E and PR20EVS.

For template work, I have the Bosch router template guide kit. It is easy to quickly change the guide, and it works well. So I can use a Porter Cable-style inlay kit, I also have the template insert, and it works well. I don’t think the Bosch router inlay kit is worth anything at all. Because the outer brass spacer was so loose, it would shake if you moved it around. There is a metal guide inside. Worst of all: The router bit comes with the kit. In order to cut a 1/8-inch inlay with a 1/4-inch template, I had to put about half an inch into the collet of my Bosch Plunge router. There is not a spiral downcut router bit like there are with some other inlay kits. The router bit is a standard straight one. I sent back my kit. Save your money and buy the Bosch Porter Cable adapter so you can buy a good inlay kit that will work well. That’s the best way for me to do my work with inlays.
