The MFN-201 flooring cleat nailer was made by BOSTITCH for people who prefer to install flooring by hand. As a result, there is no need for a compressor or hose when driving screws. Its clever design protects delicate floors while making it easy for people to use. There are two types of flooring that can be installed with this tool: pre-finished and unfinished. It can be used with thicknesses of 1/2 In. to 3/4 In.
For 200 square feet of 3/4in heart pine, I used 2in cleats with this. As a result, I spent a lot of time cutting the boards and imagining how the grain of the boards would work together. It took a couple of easygoing days. A pneumatic tool would have been a waste of money because it would have been easy and quick. There is a ratcheting mode that lets you drive the cleats with several short blows. It took a while for me to get the hang of it, but after that, almost every cleat was driven perfectly. There were two hex keys that came with the tool, but they didn’t work. I didn’t need them anyway.
