People who build their own homes hire me to do it. I’ve owned at least three of these models myself.

Pros.

This gun has a lot of magazine space, and the 28-degree wire weld nails are great if your local building codes allow them.

– If the gun is set to the deepest setting, it can go very far into the ground. This is a good choice for subfloor or LVL’s.

Cons.

A problem with the air bladder inside means that I have to take my guns to my local service center to get them fixed. They say that because I don’t oil my guns properly, the 7-year warranty doesn’t work. This isn’t true. I oil my guns every day and I have an in-line oiler, so this is not true. The bladder squirts and it won’t work. There are 25 boxes of nails that each gun can shoot.

A lot of the time, the weather can change. When it’s cold, it’s slow or not very responsive.

There is a cheap plastic hook on the top of the truss. I’m almost ready to break off the free truss hook so I can get it done.

There aren’t many guns that can shoot the 28-degree wire weld nails, and there aren’t many of them. They are very well-packed, so you can shoot more before having to reload. To be honest, that’s the main reason I’d recommend this gun, because time is often money. Hitachi also makes a wire weld nailer that can be used at 28 degrees. I think the Hitachi is better than this gun, but the Bostitch is smaller and the Hitachi is too big. I like the Hitachi because it does better in cold weather and lasts a lot longer than the others.
