I, too, use these every day, to keep warm. When I work for an insulation company, I work on new construction, retrofits, and mobile homes. We’ve also nailed down the market for these homes, which is great. In the end, we did well. These are called “Light Duty” hammer tackers, but don’t let that fool you. These things get used all the time, so don’t let that fool you. Thrown on the ground, dragged through dirt and filth, and sprayed with glue from the handle to the head, they still work after a few rough years. The worst thing we have to deal with is losing them when we insulate crawl spaces on Retro Homes.
It’s because they use a light duty staple (STCR-2619) that shouldn’t be used for roofing, which is why I said that in the beginning.
