Following a PC pinner return, I bought this one because the pins didn’t sink below the surface, so I bought this one instead. A 2 is a good thing “Pinner: I thought it could handle the 1 3/8″ pins I needed to attach 3/4” thick red oak edging stock to a desktop I was making. I was wrong. I liked this because it had a depth adjustment and other reviewers said it was good (as they did for the PC pinner). The tool-free nose also helps clear jams. Even though the app is good or I’m doing something wrong, it’s still not great. I have found that for pins greater than 1 it doesn’t work well “I must do three things. 1) The depth adjustment was turned all the way up to sink the pins as far as it could. In step two, make sure the air compressor regulator is turned up to at least 100 psi or mor. 3) fire at least five pins into scrap wood right before I pin my project. If I don’t do all three of these things, the pins will always be proud. New C.A.T. compressor with a new hose is running in my shop. The compressor has no air leaks in the hose, so it can hold a lot of air. I can use all of my nail guns with this compressor. It was very upsetting. You can help me sink the pins without having to run the pressure so high or fire several test shots. I’d be grateful for any help or suggestions you can give. A lot of people pin things, so maybe that’s just how they work. (ps. Finish carpenters – I admire you. You have some kind of magic and skill that I don’t have.
