A refined form of corn sugar (Dextrose monohydrate), suitable for use as an additive in brewing, winemaking, or as a priming sugar for bottle-conditioned beers. Although it is only half as sweet as table sugar (sucrose), it has a neutral flavor that will not alter the taste of your fermented beverage when used in small amounts.
This is a non-fermentable sweetener that I use to backsweeten my home-made cider and booze. The first few times I went off the rails, I didn’t end up contributing nearly enough. Despite my best efforts, it never seems to come out as sweet as I would like it to be.
