These two tools are both very small and lightweight, so they can get into hard-to-reach places. They also have an ergonomic handle for comfort and control.
“combo kits,” on the other hand, include last year’s models in a single price. I bought this set because it had 5ah batteries and brushless motors, as well as the “newest technology.”
My goal was to get the best set, so I bought this one.
What a joke! The direction switch on both of the units is messed up. The Hammer Drill switch is loose and floppy, and the impact driver switch is so hard to move that it’s inconvenient to move it without a lot of thumb force.
Second, the 5ah batteries don’t fit the tools well.
They clunk and move around on the tools as you raise or lower the tool to use it.
WTH?
It’s so annoying right away. It makes your hand think that something is wrong with the tool.
Come on, DeWalt. Do they actually check for quality control before they send out the DeWalt tools that they make at their factory?
The other reviews say that the switches are a problem, so I’m glad I read more and have decided to return these.
It looks like I’ll look into Milwaukee and Makita, as well as some of the more cheap brands.
With my Ryobi next to it, the Ryobi feels like a better tool because it has better balance, is smoother, and is quieter.
I understand that Ryobi is more of a tool for people who like to use it on the weekends, but my cheap Ryobi feels more sturdy, and it’s been 3 years old.
How can I be so disappointed with DeWalt’s work?

As of now, I have seen a response from DeWalt, and I want to say thanks.
Amazon sent me a new set, and the problems were the same as the first set. In fact, the forward/reverse switches were in even worse shape than the first set.
I sent both sets back to Amazon so that I could get money back on my account.
I’ve been back to Home Depot to play with the tools they have there.
It turns out that when I bought these from Amazon, I lived in Iowa. So I went to the Davenport Iowa Home Depot to compare switches and batteries.
The switches on the units at Home Depot in Iowa were better. They were tighter and felt better, but the batteries were still loose and clunky.
It has been a while since I moved, but I went to the Home Depot in Loveland.
It was very bad to see the DeWalt demo units there.
In some cases, the switches didn’t even work at all!
One of them had a switch that just moved back and forth and didn’t do anything.
Every time I tried a switch on a screen, it didn’t feel “new.”
They all felt like they were bad.
Is DeWalt becoming one of the companies that settle for low quality in order to save money, like some other companies?
You can give me a more expensive unit with switches that work and batteries that fit. I’d be happy to pay more for that.
I just bought a 14 gallon shop vac from DeWalt.
Am wishing not to be let down by what I see
It’s been a long time since DeWalt has been known for high quality.
In my head, I’m not sure what to make of Amazon’s return policy.

Send me an 887 with switches that work and a battery that doesn’t make me feel like I have to tape it to the tool. Please change my mind and give me a reason why I should be a loyal DeWalt user again.
