Up to 57% more run time: DEWALT’s drill with a brushless motor can run for up to 57% longer than a brushed motor.

XR Li-Ion batteries with a fuel gauge give this power drill 33% more power than standard packs.

DEWALT’s 20V MAX drill is small (6.9 inches front to back) and lightweight (3.4 lbs). It fits into small spaces.

A high-speed transmission with two speed settings (0-550/0-2,000 RPM) can make applications run up to 30% faster.

Ergonomic comfort grip handle gives you the right balance and control over the tool.

Ratcheting chuck: Metal 1/2-inch chuck for better bit gripping strengt.

3-Mod. LED lights up dark or small spaces up to 20 times brighter than the previous model.

LED Spotlight Mode has a 20-minute shut-off feature that lets you keep working in dark or small places for longer.

This is a 20V Brushless Drill/Driver with a pattern called Kit.

The DCD791D2 20V MAX* XR Li-Ion Brushless Compact Cordless Drill with Battery and Charger Kit is light and small so that you can work in small places for a long time. The high-speed transmission of this cordless power drill allows users to choose the level of performance needed for different tasks. A comfortable grip helps you stay balanced and keep your hands where you want them to be at all times.

This is the most recent version of dewalt’s small brushless drill. I’ve used the dewalt 771, 780, and a lot of other drills. This dewalt is by far the best cordless drill I’ve ever used. There are a lot of drills in the factory where I work. I use them all the time to drill through steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

The chuck makes everything else I’ve tried to use seem like a joke. In general, the chucks on the makita and porter cable tools are not very good. Other dewalts at least didn’t move with small bits. The metal 791 chuck, on the other hand, is on a whole other level. It’s very precise and smooth, and it holds on very well. The chuck alone is worth the extra money. The 780 isn’t worth it. The 780 costs $30 less than the 791, which I don’t understand because it’s closer to the 771 than the 791. Save money and get the 771, which is almost as good, or spend a little more and get the 791, which is a lot better.

The brushless motor is a lot more powerful than most drills. A search on the internet says that this drill can make about 620 in-lbs of torque. In the United States, dewalt lists their drills based on some non-standard measure of how much work they do. An old engineer working there might think he knows everything and won’t use the same measurement of torque that everyone else does, but there you have it: 620 in-lbs. Besides, if the drill bit gets stuck, you’re going to get a shock. At least I was, and I’m not very weak. This would have been painful if I had a weak wrist. As far as I can tell this is a good thing because a lot of drills this powerful have extra handles. This one is meant to be used with one hand. A little bit, but I’m just being a little more careful. There is nothing else I’ve ever used that has a brushed motor. I can stop the drill if it gets stuck.

In my opinion, the battery life isn’t very good. I haven’t used it enough to have used all the batteries or even to have run one of them down completely. Based on the old model and how well brushless drills work, it should be good. The fact that you can check the charge level and keep the second battery charged makes it less likely that you’ll run out of battery. Keep an eye on the battery level, though.

The case looks good and everything fits. As it stands, there isn’t much extra space, and there isn’t a place I can think of to store drill bits. The small size of the case is useful in its own way.

The light is very bright and has a few settings. There’s not much else to say about that, but it’s more useful than most.

No, I can’t think of any drill that is better at being small right now. Rockwell is the next best drill I looked into, and it costs about the same as the dewalt 780. The rockwell also has a metal chuck and a brushless motor, which the dewalt 780 doesn’t have. This makes it a better choice for me. Bosch is known for making good drills, but their most recent models of small brushless drills are said to have a lot of problems with the trigger and all of them have plastic chucks, which is not good. Although the torque ratings for both Bosch and Rockwell are very low (in the 400’s in-lb), they are still very cheap. The dewalt 791, on the other hand, appears to be the most powerful compact brushless on the market.

You can’t go wrong with this drill if it is in your price range, but if your budget is tighter, get the 771 because it costs half as much and works just as well.
