This was purchased as a Christmas present for my father-in-law. When I first saw it, I was a little disappointed because I thought it was too small in comparison to other cordless drills, and I expected it to be too weak in comparison to them. Nope. Everything works perfectly: drills, screws in 4 inch screws, and anything else you might require.
It displays the battery charge level only when the battery is being charged, not when the battery is being used. My father-in-law has stated that he is satisfied with the battery life, but I am unable to provide you with any additional information.
Overall, it appears to be a sound decision, and we’ll see how long it lasts..
UPDATE: A little more than a year later, the gears began to grind and squeal loudly. When I contacted the seller, they responded quickly and sent me a replacement. Curiosity got the better of me, so I disassembled the broken drill to see what had happened. The small wire spring that is located under the 1/2 button on the top of the drill became dislodged and ended up in the gear mechanism of the drill. Anyway, now that I’ve been able to disassemble the gear system, I can say that the quality of the gear system is extremely high.
UPDATE 2: I recently received a second tool in the mail. After three weeks, the gears on the new one began to slip as well. Do yourself a favor and invest in a more powerful drill.
