This thing is powerful. In the past, I have been using the IR 122Max. I thought that was hard-hitting, but this CP717 makes the IR look like it’s choking to death. Because it is so strong, it can break itself apart. Everything that has threads needs to be checked from time to time, or parts will come off as you use the thing. This can’t be broken apart on its own.

It’s been 16 months since I bought this, and it’s starting to get worn down a little. In the beginning, I said that this thing shakes itself apart. I still think that. You might hear a cat purring because the trigger won’t fully shut off the pin, which keeps coming loose. It would fall apart every time my apprentice picked it up, but everyone else would be fine. It used to be easy to put back together, but you need to keep an eye on it.
It still hurts, though. In an industrial welding and repair shop, it’s used a lot. It’s sometimes used for an hour or two at a time.
