After purchasing a newer, smaller Bosch driver for light tasks, I found myself in the position of needing to replace my 11-year-old Bosch 24V drill, which I truly enjoyed but whose batteries had finally died and which I did not wish to purchase new. Due to the fact that I have a small driver, this is my first encounter with an 18V driver. Although I’ve used this driver quite a bit, I can honestly say that it is excellent. So much power, but the trigger allows you to maintain complete control. Too much speed is being applied by the operator, resulting in a failure. It’s a pleasant problem to be faced with. This driver is going to see a lot of action in the near future.
Keep this in mind if you are a homeowner. Even though I’m handy and make use of my tools, I don’t do so for eight hours a day, six days a week. The construction is solid and the weight is a little heavy.
***Update: It’s been 1.5 years and I’m still in love with this Bosch product. Plenty of power, and the hammer drill performs admirably as well.
