Craftsman’s 3-inch by 21-inch belt sander, which is 7.0 amps, has an angled belt design that lets you sand close to other surfaces. It also moves at 800 fpm to get the job done quickly.
To say that was the case, we had an old version of it that was 50 years old. The belt kept getting ripped, and the parts aren’t there. 420 square feet is the size of our old deck. The wood was old and some of it was not usable, but it was all good redwood and it was all good wood. To save money, we sanded the whole thing down after we rebuilt it. We looked at other sanders and found this one on Amazon to be the cheapest, but it was not the best.
That if it worked well enough for this job alone, it was worth a try. WOW!!. My husband couldn’t get this thing off the ground. We sanded the deck, the rails, the columns, two huge old tables, and the thing was so strong that he was being pulled behind and there was no dust. Belts from the package were used very little. Definitely worth it!
