I have an old Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 7” grinder with a hand/trigger guard and the shroud fits on it with the adapters that came with it. The grinder is well within the “STANDARD” range “tolerances are shown in the instructions that come with the kit. In fact, when the shroud, Double Row Diamond Cup Wheel, and spacer are all put together and on the grinder, the diamond cup wheel is recessed about a 1/4 inch. This is even if you put a spacer or washer under the wheel. I tried it out on my concrete floor. It worked, but it didn’t work very well. I had to put a lot of pressure on the grinder to get the wheel to touch the ground. Only a small amount of dust came out while I was working with the grinder and doing some testing. I think this is because I didn’t hold the grinder level with the ground. A 6 HP 16 gallon shop vac with a very old and dirty filter was hooked up to it. Parts like the shroud and the wheel look good. The bristle row around the shroud looks like it’s about 1/4 of an inch long “thick is good. The instructions are terrible and are for a different shroud. They are written with misspellings and poor English. Fine-tune the shroud to make sure the three clamp screws are in the right place. There are no screws. I’m going to try to grind or cut off some of the top of the shroud clamp with the diamond grinding wheel to make the shroud depth even with the bristles. Besides, I should say that it appears to have come with some very nice vacuum hose adapters that are all nestled inside of each other. I didn’t need them, but it’s nice to have them come with the thing I was going to buy.
UPDATE.. Take another grinder. I used it to grind off the top 3/16ths “The fit is much better now that the shroud collar is off. See the pictures..
