A corded circular saw isn’t something I’ll be able to get used to again. The amount of time you save by not having a cord is great. As you can see, the depth of cut on bevels is limited by the size of the blade. This is a 6 1/2-inch blade. In general, though, I think the machine is worth the money because it is so big and easy to move.
First, I built a theater set. There was a lot of framing with 2x stock, 3/4″ ply, and 1/2″ ply. I used 40T to make sure there was no tear out. Also, we had two extra 5.0ah batteries on hand, so we could keep going. It is strong and quick to cut. It is also very good at cutting down stair runners quickly and cleanly. two days, two batteries were used, but not all the time.
A good shoe gives you a lot of support and control. great tracking without a guide or straight edge, even though I made some user error drift and binding at first. The electric brakes on this saw are a big deal. I’ve never had a saw with that before. When there is a lot of work to be done quickly and under a lot of stress, this tool helps. With the right-handed motor, I was able to work with my right hand while still having a clear view of the cutting line. This was another new experience that greatly sped up my work. light in weight. As a woman, I really like that. The noise level was about the same as some corded 7 1/4 saws that make a lot of noise. It would have been nice if there was some kind of lighting, like LEDs or lasers, but we’ve been able to live without them for a long time.
It comes with three Max XR 4.0-5.0ah batteries, the saw and charger, about 4 thin kerf blades on the spindle with a spring retaining clip, a guide (NOT INCLUDED), and an instruction booklet. It also comes with a rip guide, but it doesn’t come with a guide. You can fit in a few other small tools. I keep my try square, gloves, and glasses in small places.
All of this comes with the DCS391 circular saw and the DCB205 battery, as well as the DCB115 charger and the 16T Fast Woodcutting blade.
note. I had to buy the rip guide, the spring, and the screw knob somewhere else. i’ll get the parts information and add it.
