Battery and charger sold separately. Ok, let me preface this review.. Love the saw except for one thing which all of you should know about. I’ve done a few pretty major jobs with saw now, and overall it has made my work life better. -so 5 stars so far. I’d Buy you can’t put the face against the fence for one cut and the back against the face for another and get the same result. So what I do is take a 12″ (or so) scrap and invert that with whatever orientation I actually need. The two thicknesses – one up, one down, do result in parallel faces so you can reliably reverse the cut. Typical DIY user would have no clue about doing that and so would get very inconsistent results. No huge deal, and the motor would have to be seriously offset some way to give you the same clearance under the right of the blade, and I wouldn’t expect that in a sub-$300 tool. SO the description of capacity is misleading. An experienced trim carpenter can deal with it but the fact is – you do give up a lot going from a 10 or 12″ blade to a 7.25″ blade. This saw is NOT a substitute for a larger saw, but it’s a great companion to one, if that makes sense. I also wish it had the ability to cut dadoes and kerfing (lock the head partially down) – but alas it does not. Still, very handy little saw. Just don’t expect it to be the only miter saw you’ll need to own.

Okay, let’s start with this review. Love the saw, except for one thing that everyone should know. The saw has helped me with a few big jobs now, and it has made my work life better in general. So far, it’s been worth 5 stars. If DeWalt comes up with something better, I’d buy it again unless they come up with something better. There is only a 7.25-inch screen “I didn’t think the blade would be able to cut a lot of wood, and I bought it mostly to cut small trim that doesn’t need a big saw. It was set up perfectly right out of the box. I didn’t have to change anything except the scale pointers. The saw cut perfectly 90 and 45 in both directions, turned, and bevelled. Just to make it read better for me, I changed the pointers a little so it looked better. Even those might have worked for someone else. As a bonus, I also put the thinnest and highest-toothed carbide finisher’s blade that I could find on it. The blade that comes with it is a high-quality DeWalt carbide blade, but I wanted the best cut and the highest number of teeth that I could find. The blade indicator on the shadow light is perfect. It’s a lot more accurate than the blade laser on most phones. Because the switch is under a rubber dust/moisture cap, it’s hard for me to get it to work.

Is there anything else I need to know about this. This is what DeWalt says the saw can do: cut 3-1/2 inches wide “The baseboard is standing. It can, but only on one side of the blade and in one place on the saw. This isn’t true. For a short time, that might be useful. But if you want to cut baseboard on this saw, you’re going to have to flip it, lay it down (and use the bevel), flip it upside down on the left, or do other gymnastics that aren’t required on a bigger saw. In that case, there are a lot of 3 1/2-inch phones “Buying a base that doesn’t have the same face-to-face orientation means that you can’t make two different cuts with it at the same time. So, what I do is take a 12 pack “Scrap and invert that with the orientation I need, if that’s what I need. The two thicknesses – one up, one down – do make the faces parallel, so you can always cut the other way. Typical DIYers would have no idea how to do that, and so they would get very different results from one project to the next. As long as the motor isn’t too far away from the blade, it’s not that big of an issue. I wouldn’t expect that from a tool that costs less than $300. So the description of capacity isn’t true. An expert trim carpenter can handle it, but the truth is that you give up a lot going from a 10 or 12″ blade to a 7.25” blade. Not only does this saw not replace a bigger saw, but it is a great partner for one. If that makes sense. Also, I wish it could cut dadoes and kerfing (lock the head part way down) – but alas, it can’t do that, either. Still, it’s a great little saw. Just don’t think this is the only miter saw you’ll need.
