My deck used this. It did a good job with most of the things I did. I used the torque settings for small tasks, then opened it up for more difficult tasks. I was putting in 5 inch long 3/8 lag bolts into solid wood up to the last inch of the wood. Keep both hands on the drill because it has enough torque to twist your arm.
They work well for torque tasks, but also for drilling at high speeds. The screws I was using were self-tapping, and it worked well when I did that, too. I had a 777 model, but I had to send it back to the shop. This one was up for the job, though.
At the end, I may have used too much torque and hurt one of the three steel tines that hold your bit, making it wobble a little. When I did my last job, I didn’t notice that there was a wiggle. A 4 because the gripping tines could slip or break. I used this tool a lot, so I gave it that score because I did.
So far, it’s worth the money and I love the way the tool works. Everything is in the right place when it comes to speed and torque and how to use it in small places.
