This lever can be used without any tools. A belt hook that can be used on the left or right side, depending on the user’s preference. In my job, I have been looking for a cordless narrow crown stapler for years. Only DeWalt makes one now. I used to be a fan of Makita, but this tool made me switch to DeWalt.

I use this tool to put down 1/4″ and 3/8″ plywood underlayment and aluminum cove cap on the floor. It isn’t the best at underlayment because the depth drive isn’t always the same, so it’s not the best. A staple will be thrown out a lot more often with this tool than with my (ironically also DeWalt) pneumatic tool. If I’m installing three sheets of underlayment, that’s great. If I’m installing more than that, the compressor comes out, which is heavy, I might add.

Putting on the aluminum cove cap is where this tool comes in handy the most. As soon as this came out, it completely replaced my corded stapler. My corded stapler isn’t very good at all. Every penny I spent on it was worth it as a replacement for my corded stapler.

The battery seems to last a long time, but when there are only five or so staples left, the machine locks itself out.

In general, I’m very happy with it.
