A few things I don’t like about this right away.

1. The manual is very bad. 2. If you want to change cutters, it doesn’t show how to use a hex wrench. It doesn’t say how to put on the shroud.

2. There is a FAQ on the Dewalt website about the two things that were talked about above. It has a link to a video. Video: There is no voiceover, but there is a lot of bad music. If you have problems with these things, the video shows you how to fix them quickly.

The tool is said to be able to change blades “tool-free. So it’s good that they included the tool that you need to change cutters. It fits into two of the four holes in a nut that holds the cutter to a spindle. The hex wrench fits into two of them. This is how it works: The wrench turns the spindle, and you have to hold the lock on the other side. Hidden in plain sight, there is a small black button that must be pressed to lock the spindle.

The safety shroud is a good idea, but it was not done very well. In the shroud is a short, stiff metal lever. It moves a small piece out of one of the many square holes around the inner circle. If you rotate the shroud too far, it will come off and the shroud will fall off. It’s hard to get back on. Make sure the open side of the shroud is facing away from the tool while you push down on a small lever. Then, you might be able to get it back on again.
