If you want to cut through wood, you can use the second speed. It is very powerful.
Because my original died soon after the warranty expired, I had to buy a new one.
Tryed the top Milwaukee drill before this one, but the bits kept falling out of the chuck. This one is better.

Moving my review from 5 stars to 1 stars.
Second drill in six months has died.
It has a fully charged battery, but it doesn’t work.
There is no stench of fire.
All of a sudden, there was a pause.
Going along well, and then…
Nothing.
It just stops.
I think you should look into another brand of power tools because the quality of DeWalt tools has gone down a lot. It isn’t as good as it used to be.
