The short version is: do not purchase this product.

When I first started using this item, the gun would stop firing when it reached the last few staples, indicating that it was time to refill the cartridge. This was extremely beneficial in order to avoid shooting blanks. This function, on the other hand, stopped working on the first day. As a result of running out of staples, it is now operating in two modes.. 1) jams when there are only a couple of staples left in the magazine, resulting in damage to the flooring (it even jammed one staple and shot another out backwards with one pull of the trigger). 2) Because there are no staples, the gun just keeps firing, and you have to constantly double-check to make sure it is actually firing. This aspect of the tool’s operation was inconsistent from one user to another. It is fairly obvious that there is a design flaw in this tool, and that this flaw resulted in immediate damage to the tool. As a result, the installation was time-consuming and frustrating, and workpieces were damaged and had to be discarded.

With this stapler, I was able to complete one job. Because I needed to finish the job for the customer, the only reason I didn’t return it was because I couldn’t. The only thing that came out of this is that I now have extra batteries and chargers for my other Dewalt tools. This should have performed significantly better for the price!!
