If you want to cut down on the dust, you should buy this. I already had the Dewalt compact router plunge base, so I had to buy this as well. It came in a plastic bag, but it was in great shape. In a single screw, it attaches to the base of the table very quickly. Fit is great.
People expect it to do things it can’t do. They don’t think about how a router works, so they just give it a bad review. It could also be that Dewalt makes it way too big. In the woods, this adapter only works. Like when you hollow out for a tray. It does work very well for that. No, it’s not very far. Everything else, like flush cutting, edge treatment, and so on, won’t work because it’s pulling from above. None of the things it does have are special. Make sure you have the right expectations. Under the router, you need to pick up the dust. There are other ways to do that.
However, I don’t like how the hook up port looks. Straight up, that’s not good. For one thing, your hose might get in the way. Most, you’re going to get tired of having to push the hose each time. A lot of stress will be put on the elbow. I don’t know how long it will be before it breaks. So you’ll have to be careful when you put your hose on. There are other brands, such as Makita, that tend to go out the side. This makes so much more sense and doesn’t put stress on an elbow. Doe that part of the design get a 1 star off of it.
