So about a year ago, I get the idea that I really want to get rid of this boulder in my backyard. I go to Home Depot and rent a huge jack hammer, and I spend 10 hours chipping away at it almost as if I were getting nowhere. Alas, I had to give up because the granite turned out to be very hard. Recent research had led me to Dexpan, and I have to say, I was a little wary of the company. That’s what I did. I bought a bucket for $39, and my old job let me borrow their rotary-jack hammer with a 1 3/8 bit. They said to use 1 1/2, but I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal. About 7 to 10 minutes each hole, I drilled a hole that was about 18 inches deep across the boulder about 9 inches apart. Then I watched the Dexpan video one more time to make sure I was done. As far as the three bottles of water for one 11-pound bag, it was very easy to follow. A 5 gallon bucket was the best way to mix everything together and start pouring it in. I filled about 16 of the 21 holes I drilled. I felt like an idiot because I was on the fence about ordering two buckets, but I decided to see if this worked first before I bought another one. This was a scam, but I had to go to work anyway. I’m going to come back in 8 hours and see how it looks. In the end, there were huge cracks all over the boulder from holes I’d filled, and I had to stop myself from pricking at it right away because it said to wait for 24 hours. I was so happy. Because I had a san angelo bar, I went out there when it was finally time. The boulder just started to break apart at the seams. My bucket of Dexpan has since been replaced with a second one. As I write this, I have fresh Dexpan in all of the holes and I’m waiting for it to break down the rock that was once impenetrable.
