One piece of hook and loo. The rubber backing pad has a 5/8″ arbor. Also, the backer backing pad has a water feed hole so that you can wet polish.

Dry polishing may be better with this set of pads, but wet polishing may be better, too.

These pads were very good. For some bathroom vanity tops, I had to polish the edges of some 3cm granite. They looked good and worked well. To my surprise, the foam pad didn’t have a mandrel, which is what you need to put it on the drill. You need either a grinder or a polisher. Make sure you get the drill adapter when you buy the kit. You need to buy an angle grinder for this project, as well as a router speed controller (to make it slow down). Tips I learned.

1. Make sure the pads are in the middle. Off-center pads make tools vibrate in a way that isn’t pleasant.

2. Take your time and be careful. A thin strip of wood was left out of the piece when I put it together. In the dark, you can see a dull reflection. It’s hard to see outside.

3. Tape off the work area. In this way, I could make sure I didn’t miss anything when I was polishing the whole work space.

4. Take a milk jug and poke a small hole about 1 inch from the bottom with a pin. Fill up with wate. You can point the small stream of water at the work area. When you need to move the jug, do so.

Over all, I was very happy with the service and the pads still look brand new. Based on how often I’ll use them, they’ll probably last me for the rest of my life. Most of my friends couldn’t tell the factory edge from my work, which made me happy.
