I’m putting down lvt in my basement. Rises made this impossible, so I had to make it flat. I tried to rent one of those two-headed floor grinders, but it didn’t work out at all. When I was at the end of my rope, I thought I’d try my angle grinder with the cement grinding cup on it. So I knew I’d need something like this. My grinder is from Harbor Freight. It was also from Hf. It came with a lot of adapters so it could work with a lot of different types of grinders. A small adapter didn’t fit my grinder very well. When I wrapped electric tape around the part of the collector that this tape goes on, I got a good fit. Today, I used my shop vac to ground the floor. It worked great. I think it picks up 90% or more of the dust. At the wall, I could keep grinding because you can open a part of this and show off the edge of the grinding cup. The best way to keep the dust from flying is to keep the open part flat against the wall. This way, the dust stays under the attachment and out of the vac. Even when grinding, keep your grinder as flat as possible. The brushes on the attachment keep dust inside, making it less messy. Outside, of course, I had to take the filter off of my vacuum a few times to get the dust out. This was a good time to let the grinder cool down. Because this product worked so well, I was very happy that it worked so well.
