At low speeds, the 2.5 amp (1/5 HP) motor has a lot of power and is very smooth. It has a lot of torque at low speeds. A good choice for big jobs.

About 20 years after I bought my Dremel 732, the driveshaft broke. I had it for about that long (parts no longer available). Dremel: I had only used the new tool for less than 20 minutes before its new tool’s driveshaft came apart. Dremel lost power the third time I touched a piece of wood I was using to sand. It turned out that the driveshaft had broken. I took it apart to find this out (see photo). A lot of people have had the same problem with their Dremel, so I looked at the Dremel web site. Dremel should take this product off the market until it is fixed.
