The Dremel Moto-Saw is a small and easy way to make precise cuts in a wide range of materials, including wood, plastic, laminates, and metal. This precision-sawing tool is easy to store, set up, and use, and it doesn’t need any tools to change blades quickly. The Moto-Saw can be used as a stationary scroll saw, but it can also be removed from its base and used as a motorized coping saw when it’s not in use.
This is a very good saw, but it has two main problems that I think cost it two stars.
Dremel should have included a molded space for the miter gauge, even though it wasn’t included in the package. I think this is a big flaw in both the product and the customer service, and I’m not happy about it.
2- Even though it has blades for metal, it’s not good for cutting metal: I tried to cut a very soft and very thin aluminum sheet (2mm) and it broke three of the blades. The cut was not more than 6 inches long. In fact, this is only a saw for wood and plastic even though it says so on the Dremel ad.
For the most part, this saw works great on wood. I’ve only used it on soft wood that’s less than 1/4 inch thick. It can cut either straight or with sharp curve angles without any problems. I bought this saw because I wanted something small, lightweight, and quiet. I haven’t used it as a hand tool yet.
It only has to do with the height of the table you are attaching it to. I also recommend getting a switch pedal because it can be hard to reach the switch while cutting.
You can find blades where I live, but I don’t like that they are only for this saw. They should have used a standard blade.
I’m a little let down because of the two problems I mentioned. Otherwise, this saw could have been the best one for small hobby projects.
