So far, I’ve only used this sander for a total of two hours, and the motor has smoked twice when I’ve used it for more than ten minutes at a stretch. I was concerned that I was pressing too hard at first, but that was not the case today, and I still have a lot of sanding to do. While it’s still significantly faster than sanding by hand, and despite the fact that I don’t feel any suction at the head, there isn’t much dust escaping until I pull it down from wherever I am sanding. From a sanding standpoint, it’s doing a respectable job, but it takes a lot of passes, even with coarse sandpaper, so there’s a learning curve there.. it also has a tendency to bounce a lot in places where it shouldn’t, so I’m not sure what’s going on there.

Would appreciate it if someone could tell me why it’s overheating so quickly..
