The Festool 500671 D 36/32 DM-AS/CT Reducing Sleeve is designed to be used with D36/32 Suction Hoses and is available in two sizes. It has antistatic properties and is compatible with all power tools that have a D36 flange as well as cleaning accessories. The adapter is designed to rotate in order to prevent the hose from twisting in the connector. The extremely compact dimensions ensure that power tools can be handled with ease.
I placed my order based on the photo, which was incorrect. The product pictured is the D36 bayonet fitting, but it was only after receiving the order that I realized that the picture was actually of part number 500670. Rather than the Festool-specific bayonet, the part supplied (500671) is the non-bayonet version (known as a reducing sleeve), which fits perfectly but is a flexible rubber fitting rather than the bayonet. It appears that a large number of suppliers of this part are using the same incorrect image. Another point to mention is that Festool is taking everyone for a ride when it comes to pricing. Fans of Festool will argue that you are paying more for higher quality, but this is simply not true. This is a plastic hose connector, which should be half the price of this. I’m also fabricating my own hoses because Festool wants £40 per metre for their branded hose, which I cannot afford. They’re making fun of you and making fun of them.
