Aluminum Oxide is a fast, versatile and economical cutting abrasive. Diamond is the hardest mineral on Earth, but aluminum oxide is the second hardest. Aluminum Oxide can be used in both wet and dry blasting applications to clean, deburr, etch, and finish things. If you want to scratch the surface of glass, Aluminum Oxide is the best thing to use because it’s more hard than glass. When you use aluminum oxide as a blasting media, it won’t break down as quickly as glass. It also has a longer cycle life than most blast media.
So I bought the sandblasting gun. It works great, but I don’t understand why I spent so much money on 8 pounds of abrasive. If you go to Tractor Supply, you can get 50 pounds of corn for around $8.
