The DEWALT router has a maximum motor horsepower of 2-1/4 and a motor voltage of 12.0 amps. This gives it the power to cut smoothly through the hardest woods.

DEWALT’s plunge router has an electronic variable speed with full feedback control that allows it to run at a constant speed under load from 8,000 to 24,000 rpm. It also has a soft start to reduce start-up torque for better control.

A micro-fine, depth-adjustment ring allows you to make precise depth adjustments in 1/64-inch increments. It also moves vertically to keep the switch or cordset in the same place.

Adjustable, tool-free, steel motor cam locks make it easy to change the depth and base of the machine quickly and securely.

Integral, through-the-column dust collection removes 95 percent of the dust and makes the bits easier to see.

Quick-release motor latches make it easy to remove the motor pack for bit and base changes in a quick and simple way.

A detachable cordset makes it easier to service the cordset and doesn’t need a -inchshorty-inch cord motor pack.

Users can set the speed of the EVS Fixed Base / Plunge Router Combo Kit with Soft Start to cut through hard wood at their own pace. DEWALT fixed routers have precise depth adjustments and quick, easy motor pack removal for changing bits and bases. They also have a motor that can be removed to change the bit and the base. The plunge base’s built-in dust collection makes it easier to see the bits.

During the first 15-20 minutes I had it, I used the router. Then I put it away. There were only 15 minutes of use when I bought it today, and the collet fell apart. As it turns out, I can’t return the router because it’s just outside the return period. It looks like I’ll have to buy a new collet for it. I think Dewalt has a lot of problems with quality control these days. They’re now on the same level as Black and Decker, their main parent brand.

People who read the comment from “Tabitha” at “DEWALT Customer Care” might be wondering what happened in that exchange. It didn’t work out at all, so don’t worry. I emailed Tabitha again, only to have her send me to someone else who could help me. It didn’t matter that I already had a “Verified Purchase” label on Amazon for this router and almost $1,000 worth of Dewalt tools in the last three months. That person made me jump through a lot of hoops, even though I already had that label. Finally, the person told me to call the Dewalt service center near me. They “might” be able to help me.

So it looks like Dewalt hires people to troll Amazon and post comments to make them look like they’re responding, but they don’t bother to fix any problems. There’s no need to say thank you to Dewalt.
