This week, we used these 7″ polishing pads to dry polish approximately 400 square feet of concrete floor with a 6000 RPM 7/9″ angle grinder, which was literally the worst task we’ve ever encountered. Despite the fact that the angle grinder was running at a high speed, the disks generally did not leave marks on the concrete. The majority of the pads lasted long enough for us to polish several concrete countertops as well, which we thought was a good deal considering the price.

Although I initially thought the pads were ineffective, we were pleasantly surprised when we swapped out the foam backer pad that came with this set for an aluminum Stadea backer pad. The pads then came to life and performed admirably. Additionally, this set does not include an 800 grit pad, which is a shame because I have discovered that 800 grit is the point at which average density concrete begins to take on a glassy appearance.
