Please note that I am giving this a star rating because I think it would be good for the reason I bought it. I haven’t used it yet because I just got it, and I’m not sure it will work for that. I can’t say how good it is because I haven’t even turned it on. People who have already written reviews can help you with that general question.
As a cheap replacement for a part that was in my routing table, I bought this. It was a quick and easy fix. It was one of the questions that came up about this product. The answer was “Yes,” with the usual caveats about how the mounts fit. There was a coupon attached to the product listing, so I took a chance and bought the item.
The power button on this device needs to be held down while the router is in use. When it comes to a table, this isn’t going to work very well without taking steps to make it work with outside power. Using zip ties, I’ll be able to keep the power button on and switch it on and off outside of the unit, but the question and answer on this product page will make you think it’s mostly ready to go. This isn’t true.
Also, a look at the screws that hold the machine together shows that one of them is mostly covered on the top side by a plastic sleeve that covers the springs that make the machine move. While the sleeve is squishy enough that it may be able to move a little to one side to fit the extra length of the mounting bolt, this may stop the sleeve from collapsing during depth adjustments. Again, I just got the unit and haven’t tried to mount or use it yet, so I can’t say for sure whether the hole is covered or not, but it looks like it might be a problem when I look at the situation. Your mileage may be different.
