The cordless drills we’ve used on our land have been a lot of fun to use. It’s not just Dewalt and Skil that make 20V cordless tools. We also have the 18V Ryobi and the 18V Dewalt. Plus, we’ve used a few off-brand ones that we bought from time to time, mostly for short-term use. If you want to do some small home repairs or put together some furniture, Hammerhead’s 20V cordless drill is what you need.
When I read some of the reviews, I’m not sure what to make of them, to be honest. From what I’ve read, you’d think that this is a tool for contractors to use. It isn’t. A lot of people don’t use it, or at least not very often. It wasn’t made for anything more than light-duty needs. It worked well for us to add some new lighting to our barn. It’s smaller and weighs a few ounces less than most of our cordless drills, which are bigger and weigh more.
Not at all. I like it, but I can’t think of a lot of reasons to buy it over any of the name brands that cost the same. It costs $53. Which means that you can buy a Skil, B+D, or Craftsman for three to ten dollars more. Getting a Dewalt will set you back about a buck. You can get a 20V drill for $60 to $130. You can get a 20V Skil brushless for $10 more than this one. This brand is owned by Chervon, which owns Hammerhead and Skil. If they charged this Hammerhead drill like they charge Wesco, I’d say buy it for people who want to do DIY projects on a budget. There are no big benefits to owning a Hammerhead if the price isn’t reduced. I don’t think there are any big benefits to owning a Hammerhead if the price isn’t reduced.
