First, yes and yes. It can hold a full-size drill and can be used left-handed, so it’s a good idea to buy it (see pictures).

*Quality/construction.

Well made, material is strong and durable, good stitching, nice build quality.

*Functionality.

Once you use it, you’ll wonder how you lived without it. If you have a driver/drill, this should be a must-have piece of equipment, even if you only do a little DIY work from time to time. The strap can be snapped to keep the driver in the holster, or it can be velcroed out of the way for quick in and out. I’ve used it with both small electric screwdrivers, medium drills, and full-size drills. Holds everything just fine. For full-size drill, it can be strapped in, but it is a tight fit, it may be tool dependent. If you’re a small driver, there’s no problem strapping it in. (See the pictures.

*Utility.

Not bad, but could be better. The side “pockets” are simple and effective, but they could be made to hold more things and have a dedicated pocket built in (similar to what you find on the full-size holster). It can hold bits, nuts, screws, and a pencil. Good for most small jobs. At the bottom, two pockets are closed. The other two have an open bottom. (See the pictures.

*Left-Handed.

In fact, it works well with the battery back as you would expect to do. The angle of draw, hang, and so on are all the same as you’d expect, and they’re all right for lefties. When the drill was set up for a left-handed draw, I could barely strap it in. Other drills (that were not full-size) fit and snapped in just fine. (See the pictures.

*Conclusion.

In my case, I only use tools on two or three weekends out of the month. If you’re like me and only use tools on the weekends, this is a great holster that will keep your small and medium-sized drill/driver/impact tools safe while still being able to hold your full-size tools from time to time. If you are a contractor that will be using this daily for a full-size driver, I recommend that you go with the full-size holster.
