You’re in luck if you are still waiting after almost 7 years… I just took one of these sanders almost completely apart earlier today and can tell you exactly how to do it. To remove or install the sanding belt, push the front pulley towards the back of the sander until it locks in the compressed position. When you pull it, the tensioner is released from the locked position and the sander is ready to use.
