I worked in a parts house/machine shopwhen in high school and one of the machinists showed me to just use a piece of the old rings , break about in 1/3s and pull that around the ring grove a few times. I did that on my old 2stroke motorcycle pistons many times. We didn’t have the specialty 2 stroke oil at that time so we poured the oil to the mix, really carboned engines up.
MM- good points about the acid and thanks for posting up those vids. I did more of Mastermind’s technique and a lot less of my acid on the latest cylinder I cleaned up. Just widening the intake/exhaust and opening up the tranfers and port matching the exhaust/muff.
