I’m glad I didn’t try and put a cutting blade on my grinder. That thing could really hurt you. The jamb saw has a guard that you can rest on the floor so that you get a level(ish) cut. I can’t imagine putting a saw blade on a grinder, with no guard, and then trying to hold it steadily 1/2″ off the floor while cutting anything. 11-01-2006, 08:19 AM.I’ve never used a power jamb saw, so I didn’t realize they were so scary to operate… seems that folks are split on this topic and in all honesty I think my first choice will be to take Jerry’s idear and use my sawsall with a long finishing blade… if that doesn’t work… well, we’ll see if I rent a jamb saw or take a chance…. but I’d bet the sawsall works fine.
