It drills through steel as if it were aluminum, and it does so quickly. Excellent design, strong and sturdy construction, and portability. This drill performs admirably considering its price range. Right out of the box, I was able to drill approximately 800 holes, each measuring 7/8 inch in diameter, through a 1″ thick steel plate with no problems or hassles.
