The jet oscillating sander is a great tool that is both quiet and powerful. Mine was damaged when I opened the box, which is likely because it was handled rough after it was packaged. Styrofoam packaging for a heavy cast iron machine like this is not strong enough. The machine is almost on its feet in the box, and the box doesn’t have enough room for it. Change the packaging so that it doesn’t bend the corner of the base when it’s shipped. Either way, Jet should put it on a stronger or more durable base. People have said that I had to straighten out the metal, and the powder coat paint has flaked off where it was bent. I don’t think this will be a problem when it’s used. Do you think Jet hasn’t read any of these reviews and knows about this?
