The LaSalle Bristol 39240 Waste Valve Kit is meant to be a replacement for your RV’s old waste valve for the black water tank. It has a 3″ opening, which lets waste water flow freely out of your RV when the valve is open. The ABS plastic body and stainless steel shaft are built to last for a long time. The kit comes with one valve body, seals, and all the tools you need to install it.
All of the right-sized bolts and nuts were there. Putting in was a little bit easy. The old bolts had been WD40ed a few days before. Just emptied and rinsed the tank, took out the old bolts, bent the fittings on both sides so the old unit could slip out. There was a new unit that was just reversing what had already been done. Slide it into place on one side, then the other. Seat on one side, then the other. To do this, put new bolts into the holes and then tighten them. Bristol should have kept the little tabs that keep the handle in a straight up and down position when it is fully seated 18 years ago. When the handle is fully seated, the tabs keep the handle in place. Not that important, but I liked it that way.
