I bought this tool set for a friend to help them build furniture and decorate their new home. My surprise was that the tools themselves were built very well. The drill isn’t as strong as my Ryobi drill set, but it costs less than half as much. In addition to the drill, I added a set of screw driver bits (e.g., hex wrenches). I used the drill to screw together more than 20 different pieces of furniture. I used the drill bits that came with the kit to put up window blinds. I even used the wall anchors that came with the vacuum charger to hang it. The box cutter was used all the time. When you screw in the brackets for the window blinds, the long blue thing that looks like a bead is a flexible shaft for the drill driver. It was very useful. The hammer and the needle nose pliers were very useful when I had to hang up pictures. The jeweler’s screwdrivers came in very handy when I needed to open and change the button battery cells in a remote control. A lot of tools were used while I helped them move.
The only things I don’t like about the set are that the tools don’t always stay in their places in the molded plastic case, there is an oily smell and feel to the metal, there aren’t enough screw bits, and the screw drivers are a little flimsy in comparison to the other tools. They are still good, but could bend if used for prying.
This tool set is surprisingly good for the price. I’d buy it again as a gift for someone who needs tools at home but doesn’t have any yet. For general use around the house, this is a good set of tools. If you buy this and plan to use the drill driver for a lot of different things, I would recommend getting a set of different driver bits. I found a good set on Amazon.
