I purchased the RF1101 some time ago and did not realize at the time that a plunge base is more of a necessity than an option when I purchased the device. During that time, I looked for one on my own but could only find it in a kit that included the router.
This base was available for purchase separately. It arrived in a brown cardboard box with no label, but it is clearly a brand new item on the inside. On the same box was a shipping label for a shipment from the Makita warehouse to Amazon.
The foundation is in excellent condition. All of the knobs and levers are easily accessible and operate extremely smoothly. The tool is of exceptional quality, and I would have expected nothing less from Makita. It corresponds to my previous experience with their other tools, which I also own.
