Makita power tools have never let me down. I own a lot of them. This is what I think about Makita. This tool does what it’s supposed to and makes you feel good about it. Also, I bought the FD06Z 12v driver, which works well with this tool, as well. It’s a new line of 12v tools. If you don’t need a lot of horsepower, this size is the right mix of lightness and power. A battery status indicator, an LED light, a stand up base, and a belt clip are some of the cool features. They both work well together because one has power and the other can be used to keep things in check (ie clutch). Buying the dt03r1 kit with the fd06z tool seemed to cost about $30 more than if I bought the kit and tool together.
